I've tried to stay fit and active, multiple times. But I was never able to really commit and get back in shape. Not that I'm overweight or unhealthy, but there are many improvements that can be made.
Two weeks ago my sister, who was visiting from South Africa, made a comment about me resting my arms on my stomach. Though it hurt, it was the truth. I was getting a slight beer belly. It's hard to admit but it's part of what motivated me to challenge her.
She'll be back in December, that's roughly 30 weeks from now. I'm already running a half marathon in August, but I don't want it to stop there. I want to get down to my ideal weight, get toned, drop the beer belly and get fit.
This includes running, cardio workouts, cycling and any other workouts that may come up.
I built a little tool to help me keep track of my progress in terms of miles ran per week and current weight at the end of that week. As time goes by I might add other important statistics that may be nice to track.
